La Poste (French Post)
La Poste operates as a French postal company that provides services in Metropolitan France, including the five overseas departments and regions and the overseas communes of Saint Pierre and Miquelon. Moreover, La Poste is responsible for postal services in Monaco and Andorra through bilateral agreements with La Poste Monaco and the Spanish company Correos. The company was established in 1991 after the French PTT division, a government agency responsible for postal, telegraph, and telephone services in France. La Poste took over postal services while France Télécom (presently known as Orange) became accountable for telecommunications services. Although France Télécom was privatized, La Poste remained a public company.
